Human Performance Labs was built by a father and son who kept seeing the same thing — people dismissed by conventional medicine who deserved better answers. One brought the clinical knowledge. One built the platform.

Dr. Coby Hanes has spent years working with patients at his functional wellness clinic in Prineville, Oregon — people dealing with chronic fatigue, brain fog, hormonal dysfunction, and the kind of persistent symptoms that conventional medicine consistently fails to explain. Over that time, he developed a clear picture of the patterns that keep showing up and the approaches that actually address them.
His involvement in HPL is as an educational content advisor. He reviewed and informed the educational frameworks behind each protocol track — ensuring the content reflects current functional wellness research and is clinically grounded. He is not your practitioner, and his advisory role does not constitute a clinical relationship.

Cole built Human Performance Labs from the ground up — the protocols, the platform, the product, and the content. With a background in functional wellness education and a personal experience watching people he knows struggle to get answers from conventional medicine, he saw an opportunity to make the knowledge that exists in clinical practice accessible to the people who need it most.
He handles the operations, product, marketing, and content — including scripting and building out every educational module. The goal was to build something that actually worked for people who'd already tried everything else and weren't getting results because nothing was matched to their specific situation.
The protocols in HPL aren't invented. They're drawn from established functional wellness research and clinical experience — and reviewed for accuracy before anything is published.
The IFM is the leading organization in functional medicine education. IFM certification requires completing an intensive training program covering systems biology, root-cause assessment, and evidence-based lifestyle interventions. Dr. Hanes is IFM-certified — the gold standard credential in this field.
Developed by Dr. Dale Bredesen, the ReCODE Protocol is one of the most rigorously researched approaches to cognitive health and neurological performance available. Dr. Hanes is certified in this protocol — it directly informs the cognitive performance elements of the HPL curriculum.
The protocols aren't theoretical. They're based on approaches that have been applied with real patients in a real clinic and produced real results — including the detox class, where 87% of participants reported improved energy within 3 weeks. That's the foundation the HPL curriculum is built on.
Human Performance Labs is an educational coaching program — not a medical practice. Dr. Coby Hanes serves as an educational content advisor. His credentials establish the credibility of the educational content. They do not establish a practitioner-patient relationship with program members. Cole Hanes is the co-founder and operator of Human Performance Labs. Nothing in this program — including the intake questionnaire, curriculum, AI assistant, or any team member communication — constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Individual results vary. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making changes to your health regimen.
